Runner Strength Training

Leg swings

Mobility · Learning · in reps · per side

Why it helps your running

Opens up hip mobility along your stride line, without forcing, so your leg can extend freely.

You'll need
a wall
Tempo
1 s down, 1 s up

How to do it

  1. One hand on the wall, swing your free leg forward and back, going wider each time.
  2. Keep your torso upright: the range comes from the hip, not the back.
  3. Then switch to side-to-side swings, with the leg crossing in front of your body.

Common mistakes

  • Your lower back arches to swing higher.
  • Your standing foot shifts with every swing.

Strength work, built into your plan.

Your coach picks your movements, their sets and tempo, and slots them into your week — with a guided session, minute by minute.
