Marathon plan

Your marathon, built week after week.

Four to six months of build-up, with a life around it. Runayo builds your training plan all the way to race day from your PBs and your volume, suggests a realistic finish time, and readjusts every week based on what you've actually run.

Your goal

Pick your target time.

For each time: the pace, splits, starting level, your paces and three workouts.

Getting started

Three steps, and your plan is ready.

  1. Enter your race and date

The marathon you're targeting, your date, a time goal or just finishing, your runs per week. Your coach suggests a time and explains why.

  2. Tell your coach where you're at

Your PBs, your mileage over the past few weeks, your max HR: enter them by hand, or let your watch bring them in. Your plan starts from there, not from a generic table.

  3. Run, your coach follows along

Each week is built from the one before. A heavy week, a niggle: you note it, and what comes next takes it into account.

Questions

What runners ask us.

How many weeks does it take to train for a marathon?
The plan runs right up to your race date, whatever it is: it starts today or on Monday, and its phases stretch out or tighten up depending on how much time is left. Sixteen to twenty weeks is comfortable; less than that, and your coach works with what you've got.
Do I need a watch?
No. You enter your numbers by hand in two minutes, and you can log a completed workout in seconds. If you have a watch, your runs come in on their own.
What if I miss a week?
The plan doesn't hold it against you. You flag what happened (fatigue, travel, pain), and the following weeks pick up from where you actually are.

Your marathon has a date. So does your plan.

Watch or no watch, a mobile number is enough.
