Runner Strength Training

Small two-foot hops

Mobility · Learning · in seconds held

Why it helps your running

Preps your Achilles tendons for bouncing before any plyometrics or fast-paced running.

You'll need
nothing: just your bodyweight

How to do it

  1. Hop in place, just a few centimetres off the ground, feet together.
  2. Keep ground contact short and on the forefoot, heels barely brushing the ground.
  3. Stay braced, the movement comes from the ankles.

Common mistakes

  • You bend your knees a lot and jump using your thighs.
  • Your heels slam into the ground on every landing.

Strength work, built into your plan.

Your coach picks your movements, their sets and tempo, and slots them into your week — with a guided session, minute by minute.
