Runner Strength Training

Calf stretch against the wall

Mobility · Learning · in seconds held · per side

Why it helps your running

Calves that release after the effort and an ankle that keeps its range of motion for your next run.

You'll need
a wall

How to do it

  1. Facing the wall, hands on it, one leg well back, heel on the ground, knee straight.
  2. Push your hips toward the wall until you feel the stretch in the calf, hold and keep breathing.
  3. Then bend the back knee slightly, heel still down, to stretch lower, toward the tendon.

Common mistakes

  • The back heel lifts off the ground.
  • The back foot turns outward.

Strength work, built into your plan.

Your coach picks your movements, their sets and tempo, and slots them into your week — with a guided session, minute by minute.
