Runner Strength Training

Front plank

Core · Learning · in seconds held

Why it helps your running

A core that doesn't collapse under impact: your leg power reaches the ground instead of leaking away.

You'll need
nothing: just your bodyweight

How to do it

  1. On your forearms and toes, elbows under your shoulders.
  2. Squeeze your glutes and tuck your hips slightly: keep your lower back flat.
  3. Push the ground away with your forearms, eyes between your hands.

Common mistakes

  • Your hips sag and your lower back arches.
  • Your butt pikes up in the air.

Strength work, built into your plan.

Your coach picks your movements, their sets and tempo, and slots them into your week — with a guided session, minute by minute.
