Runner Strength Training

Single-leg Romanian deadlift

Posterior chain · Building · in reps · per side

Why it helps your running

Hamstrings, glutes and balance in one move: the stability you need when the ground shifts under your foot.

You'll need
nothing: just your bodyweight
Tempo
3 s down, 1s pause, 1 s up

How to do it

  1. On one leg, knee just unlocked, hinge your torso forward over 3 seconds while the other leg extends behind you.
  2. Torso and rear leg form one line, hips stay square.
  3. Pause a second at the bottom, come back up by driving your hip forward.
  4. Same number each side, weaker side first.

Common mistakes

  • The hip of the free leg opens up toward the ceiling.
  • Your back rounds at the bottom.
  • The standing knee caves inward.

Strength work, built into your plan.

Your coach picks your movements, their sets and tempo, and slots them into your week — with a guided session, minute by minute.
